City of Robins Planning Documents

  • 2019 “Looking to the Future” Community Survey
    • In mid-September 2019 the City of Robins mailed a questionnaire to every household in the city requesting input on current community concerns as well as to how the city should develop in the future. The results of this survey have and will continue to shape the growth of the city.
  • Future Land Use Map
    • The Future Land Use Map (FLUM) is a visual representation of the anticipated future zoning designation and permitted uses of currently undeveloped tracts of Land within the City limits. This document is a primary tool of city planners and engineers as the city develops and grows. The future land use map should not be confused with the current zoning map.
  • 2013 Comprehensive City Plan
    • This document, the result of collaboration between the City of Robins and the East Central Iowa Council of Governments (ECICOG), contains essential information for future planning efforts within the city. It provides reference and guidance for continued planning and development in order to manage growth and make efficient use of the city’s resources.
  • Trails Map
    • Provides a visual representation of the city’s comprehensive plan as Robins grows and develops for the installation of sidewalks, bike lanes and bike/pedestrian trails by developers to result in a more connected, safer city.
  • Street Map
    • Provides a visual representation of the city’s comprehensive plan as Robins grows and develops for the extension and expansion of existing streets and the installation of additional streets.
  • SFGO Goals and Strategy Outline
  • Tower Terrace Corridor Management Plan Update (March 2019)
    • This document was created by the Corridor MPO and abridged to include only information pertaining to the City of Robins phase of the overall project. it contains project background, design information as well as conceptual project plans.   • Street Maintenance Concrete Repairs
    • Status: COMPLETE
    • Replacement of cracked concrete street and city-owned sidewalk panels.

  • East Main Street Concrete Repairs
    • Status: COMPLETE
    • Description: Repair of cracked concrete street and sidewalk panels.
    • Estimated Completion: June 30, 2023
  • SE Sanitary Sewer
    • Status:  IN PROGRESS
    • Description:  Improvements to sanitary sewer systems from S. Mentzer Rd. to S. Troy Rd
    • Estimated Completion: Summer 2023
  • South Troy Culvert Upgrade
    • Status:  COMPLETE
    • Description:  As part of SE Sanitary Sewer Upgrade, replacement of metal culverts with concrete box culverts under S. Troy Rd.
    • Estimated Start:  September 11, 2023
    • Estimated Completion: September 29, 2023
  • Robins Landing Water Main Connection
    • Status:  COMPLETE
    • Description:  Connection to Water Main to serve Robins Landing Development.
    • Estimated Start:  October 23, 2023 (delayed from October 16)
    • Estimated Completion: November 6, 2023
  • West Main St. Reconstruction Phase 1
    • Status:  PLANNING
    • Description:  Installation of curb and gutter and storm sewer from Stamy Rd. to Cedar Valley Nature Trail crossing. To include construction of 10 foot wide pedestrian/bike trail on north side of W. Main St.
    • Estimated Start: Spring 2025
  • West Main St. Reconstruction Phase 2
    • Status:  LONG TERM PLANNING
    • Description:  Installation of curb and gutter and storm sewer from Stamy Rd. North Center Point Rd. To include construction of 10 foot wide pedestrian/bike trail on north side of W. Main St.
    • Estimated Start: 2030 – 2034
  • Tower Terrace Rd. Extension
    • Status: LONG TERM PLANNING
    • Description: Extension of Tower Terrace Rd. from N. Center Point Rd. to Council St. as part of the larger project involving the cities of Cedar Rapids, Hiawatha, Robins and Marion as well as Linn County and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
    • Estimated Start: Undetermined
