Burning
No burning other than recreational burning is allowed within ½ mile of Cedar Rapids, Marion, or Hiawatha. If you are located outside of the ½ mile restricted area, burning is permitted within the corporate city limits in an approved incinerator, which has a wire mesh lid. Wire mesh lids shall not exceed ½ inch clear opening and will cover the entire opening of the container. Any other burning requires a Burning Permit. To obtain a burning permit, call the Linn County Health Department at 319-892-6000, or fill out an application at https://gis.linncountyiowa.gov/apps/health/openburning/
ANIMAL CONTROL
ALL DOGS/CATS MUST HAVE CURRENT RABIES VACCINATION In Robins, it is unlawful for the owner of any dog/cat to allow or permit such animal to run at large. All dogs/cats are to be restrained and/or confined to the premise of the owner, except when accompanied by the owner, or handler of said animal(s). TREE, Shrub, and Weed Regulations
The purpose of this ordinance is to beautify and preserve the appearance of the city by regulating and providing for the planting, care, and removal of trees. No tree shall be planted in any right-of-way. The right-of-way is the area from your property line to the edge of the street. The ordinance also requires property owners to keep the trees on or overhanging the street trimmed to that all branches have a minimum clearance of nine (9) feet over sidewalks and fifteen (15) feet over all streets or alleys. SNOW REMOVAL POLICY
As stated in Section 136.03 of the Robins Municipal Code it is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove the natural accumulations of snow and ice promptly from sidewalks, or if the ice cannot be removed, to treat the ice with sand, salt or other non-slippery substance. If a property owner does not remove the snow or ice or treat the ice within twenty-four (24) hours, the City may do so and assess the costs against the property owner for collection in the same manner as property tax.
